This is a program was designed to help save dogs who, because of severe behavioral issues, are in danger of losing their lives to euthanasia.

Tessa's Cause was created to honor the life of a fearful young dog, under one-year of age who was euthanized when she failed temperament when she was surrendered to that shelter. It honors all dogs who find themselves faced with death because their issues either went undiagnosed by a qualified professional or were misunderstood by by their handlers. Tessa's Cause was created by My Best Friend Dog Training LLC (parent company of The Dog Super Nanny), and is the only program of its kind in the United States under this name.

We offer 50% trainings for those owners who are experiencing financial hardship, have minor children living in the home, have an immune compromised individual living in the home and more.



QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify the dog must have been deemed dangerous by a veterinarian, police officer, or animal control officer (documentation is necessary), OR,

-- The dog has been diagnosed with a medically-related behavioral issue (documentation is necessary).

 -- A minor child is domiciled with a dangerous dog.

-- An immune-compromised individual is domiciled with the dog.

-- An elderly person is domiciled with the dog. 

-- The owner must be willing to place the dog on, and pay for, psychotropic medication — if after reading our comprehensive behavioral report — a veterinarian decides that medication is necessary.

5013C ORGANIZATIONS

We offer free trainings for shelters, rescue groups and others operating under a legitimate 5013C.

Qualifications: In order to qualify the group must be a legitiate 5013C operating in the State of New Jersey (documentation is necessary). The organization must be willing to train the dog as an alternative to euthanasia and be willing to pay for psychotroic medication — if after reading our extensive behavioral analysis report — the assigned veterinarian/behaviorist determines that medication is necessary.

Additional qualifications are:

-- The dog must have been deemed dangerous by a veterinarian, police officer, or animal control officer (documentation is necessary), OR,

-- The dog has been diagnosed with a medically-related behavioral issue.
Documentation is necessary. OR,

-- The organization must not have had any cruelty or neglect complaints lodged against them that resulted in a court hearing, even if charges were dismissed, OR,

 -- The dog is on death row.

 All applicants of Tessa's Cause will be reviewed individually to determine if they meet the qualifications set forward. Applying for Tessa's Cause is not a guarantee of qualification.

Tessa's Cause is a program designed to help save the lives of dogs who have behavioral issues, however, one must understand that not all dogs can be saved.
